TEAM BRETT CITY2SURF 2008

It was a rather chilly start to this year’s Team Brett City to Surf endeavour on Sunday 10 August but that didn’t deter the 43 fundraising participants who ran, walked or casually strolled their way through the Sydney suburbs to reach the white sands and blue seas of Bondi Beach.

Once the clouds disappeared, Sydney put on another magnificent display of winter weather which made the 14km much more enjoyable. Luckily, by the time the rain came down all of the Team were enjoying the post fun run festivities at the Beach Road Hotel. Thanks must go to the Team Brett Support Crew for yet another delicious lunch and to Coke for their generous Powerade supplies.

Special thanks must also go out to the team at ISC Sports Apparel for again providing the Team Brett t-shirts which made all the Team look so good no matter what pace they were moving at!

The fundraising efforts fantastic and as at the close of fundraising, we had raised over $41,000. Team Brett's major sponsor Babcock & Brown, have again supported us with a huge $40,000 cheque making the total funds raised well over $81,000 from this event. This means we will be able to fund another research grant through Cure Cancer Australia from this event alone.

To all the generous sponsors that have supported us, we also thank you again and also invite you to register to be part of the team for next year’s event.

This is really what makes what we do here so worthwhile and certainly worth the sore and stiff muscles the next day!
